Where can I get a free resume template?

  • Go to Microsoft Word > File > New > search online templates in the search bar > type in “resume” and hit enter, there are 100 or more free templates to choose from.

    Where can I get an AI resume?

  • There are multiple websites that you can choose from, however I recommend https://www.resume-now.com/ as a great resource to upload or build your resume from scratch with AI assistance, and you can download it for a few dollars.

    How long should my resume be?

  • Depends on experience:

  • 1-5 years =1 page

  • 5-10 years=2 pages

  • 10-15+ years = 2-3 pages

    Should I have a summary section in the beginning of my resume?

  • Yes! In this section you should highlight your expertise, years of experience, and main attributes that match with the job that you are applying for. Customize it each time you apply for a new job and highlight your corresponding experience/skills.

    Should I add volunteer experience, and school GPA ?

  • Yes! Volunteer experience, is great experience to have on your resume and says something about your character. If you have a GPA of 3.4 or greater, add it, otherwise leave it out.

    Is it a big deal if there are some errors on my resume?

  • Yes! Make sure to have no grammatical errors in your resume, and get someone to review it for you when you believe you have made every effort to perfect it, a simple grammatical error can turn off recruiters immediately.
